Horizontal Coffee & Books

Visiting from Dallas and found this place to have the best coffee in Cleveland! The vanilla bean latte and the seasonal salted maple latte were outstanding! Great customer service too!

Really great coffee shop with friendly service and a great selection of books but okay coffee. I ordered a cortado but the barista made me a very foamy cappuccino instead in a big mug. I didn’t mind the bigger drink, but the fact that they have cortado glasses and couldn’t make this simple drink correctly was upsetting. Will return for the books but not for the coffee—I think their speciality’s are their iced drinks sine the espresso itself did taste good.

Very friendly and welcoming service, along with a great variety of books to choose from at excellent prices. I also appreciated the option to purchase coffee and snacks.

True coffee shops have pour overs, and this has a good one. 😊 I loved the large selection of books as well. Great place to relax.

Index is one of the coziest spots in Cleveland. They make a really good pour-over, and my absolute favorite is Shark Week tea. They also have a good variety of baked goods, our top pick is the peanut butter cookies. I’ve also enjoyed browsing and buying from their solid book collection, and their prices are very reasonable. I believe there was a discount when I made my purchase, but I can’t remember exactly how much it was. We were honored to meet the owner, Austin, and the staff are all incredibly friendly.
